Back in 2012, I was looking for a way to cover my patio as I just love to entertain and spend time dining or enjoying a glass of wine or a cold beer outside …the problem is always the unpredictable British weather! You know what I mean... “BBQ on Sunday, see you at two” .… a dozen people turn up and the heavens open, what now!
Anyway, after searching online and seeing some ads in the glossy magazines I could only find either cheap canopies which didn’t look great and probably leaked like a sieve, or high end orangery type structures that I knew would cost an arm and a leg and be way over my budget.
What I wanted was something in the middle, a high quality aluminium or timber structure with either a glass or polycarbonate roof. Without finding a company that could supply what I required at a reasonable price, there was only one solution…...source the materials and do it myself!
